Historical heritage
Anglès is a town with a long history and heritage
that dates back to 30,000 years ago!
Plaça de la Vila (square)
This open, practically triangle space, formerly known as the Anglès Castle’s parade ground, was almost entirely renovated in the nineteenth century. Nonetheless, some original features have been preserved, such as the windows on Ca l’Aulet, Cal Noi, and the Cal Rellotger house, where a beautiful Renaissance window has been uncovered on the upper part of the building.
When the Burés factory opened in 1887, the square became the first in Spain to install electric lighting.
