Industrial heritage
The rich industrial heritage of the town of Anglès,
mainly related to mining and the textile industry, is still visible today.
The Sant Pare Mines
Today, you can still see the remains of the mining company’s old warehouses and houses where the miners and the company directors lived. Also preserved are the main well, which drained to the current Font del Canyo fountain, and the lead smelting flue at the top of the hill known as La Coma del Rec de Via. For a few years, the Holy See was the owner, hence its name, which translates as the Holy Father Mines.
